Finally!

Mead has been sleeping through the night for a week! Yay! We, well Jason, fixed his crib and he is in his own room. Now if we could just keep Declan from sneaking in! He figured out how to dismantle the child safety nob to keep him in his room. Looks like we will have to turn the nob completely around.

Looking forward to a long weekend with my boys! Work is so incredibly busy this year, but wonderful! Definitely need the weekend to recharge:)

Bumbo Recall?

Not sure why the Bumbo was recalled. Maybe I should look into that. I do know that Declan loved it and survived and Mead is pretty fond of it too:).

Declan's 3 year Stats

It's hard to believe we had his 3 year appointment today! This was Dec's very first appointment with Dr. Elliott.
Weight: 37lbs. (90%)
Height: 38 inches (70%)
He has gained 6lbs. in a year and is growing beautifully and healthy! He did get the nasal flu mist and was an angel for his appointment! Dr. Elliott did make me feel better when I asked about potty training, sleep habits, and behaviors that we are seeing! Declan is normal and we pretty much rocked his world when we brought home Mead. He is a typical, but very smart 3 year old, but what he is going through is normal. Nice to hear from a doctor! I think I might be a little too hard on The DEW and need to make more of an effort to spend more one on one time with him!

I know I just said this in the last post, but I'm feeling extremely thankful for our perfectly healthy little boys. When life is not going so great and I might be a little down, I need to stop and reflect at just how lucky I really am! Being a Mom is the hardest and best job there is.

I'm going to have a nice dinner and some wine with my wonderful husband as are sweet boys sleep and reflect on just how lucky we are. As my dad says "family, health, and friends is all you need.". He is a wise man:)

Mead's Two Month Stats

Our sweet little baby boy is growing and healthy! We had his appointment on Tuesday.
Weight: 13lbs. And 13oz. (75%)
Height: 24 1/4 inches (90%)
Head: 16 inches (90%)
Everything checked out perfectly... Except his testicle. I know, I know he will be mortified one day when he reads this and knows I shared it with the world...so will his Dad. BUT this is reality and this blog is meant to document parts of our lives. Anyway, one of Mead's balls has not descended. Our pediatrician had us go to CHOA today, bright and early, and get an ultrasound. Mead was perfect for the US. He really is the best baby. He just smiled at her the whole time...well, she was playing with his balls. Totally kidding! So we left there with her not giving me much info, but that we would get the results today maybe, but at the latest Wednesday. Well, Dr. Elliott just called and said that it is in the canal and trying to come down on its own. He said it looks healthy and normal and should drop down at 4-6 months of age. If it hasn't at that time we will go see a urologist, but for now everything looks normal. Yay!

Let me say that this is nothing compared to what some children go through. Not even in the same category. If you want to put your life into perspective spend a little time in the radiology waiting area at a Children's Hospital. It almost makes you feel guilty sitting there With your healthy and normal child. I'm counting my blessings today, and everyday, for our two healthy little boys.

I'm off to take Declan to his 3 year this afternoon. Yes, it has been a busy week! Glad it is Friday and for an unexpected day off with my boys that ended with great news:). Have a great weekend!!!

Mead is TWO Months!

The BEST baby in the world is two months old today. He seriously is so good! God blessed us with great babies! He is a chunky monkey and so happy! He rarely cries! He is still sleeping in our room. The crib broke in the move and it needs repair or we have to get a new one. He sleeps in his rocker( best gift evere) which is wonderful for his reflux, but we need to move him into his own room. He is eating 4-41/2 ounces every 3 hours with one 7 hour stretch at night. I think he is getting close to sleeping through the night! He loves to be swaddled and does not really have any interest in his paci like his big brother. He is so easy so far and I hope it stays that way. Declan continues to be an amazing big bro and loves Mead so much! They are going to be best friends! I'm taking both of them to the doctor next week, so I will have their stats. Life is so good in the Wood house right now! Love our family of four:)

Chunky Monkey!

Declan has to be in the pictures too of course:)

Big boy!

That smile warms my heart!

Goodbye Summer and Maternity Leave

Tomorrow I begin my 11th year teaching children with Autism. It definitely does not feel like I've been teaching since I was 21 years old! Wow! I have a great team this year and a great group of kids as usual;). I still get butterflies and I'm sure I won't sleep tonight...I never do the eve of the first day of school. I'm glad I had a two day trial run to make sure I could get all of us ready and out the door!

Declan and Mead love Ms. Tina and Ms. Monica. Ms. Monica looks after Mead all day. She is one of the nicest ladies ever and loves our little boy. She is Australian and I know Mead probably enjoys her talking and singing to him throughout the day:). When I picked the up on Friday, Ms. Monica told me that she had a son that was Autistic. He lives in Australia in a home and is nonverbal and can be aggressive. He is getting excellent care there and is safe, apparently he is a big boy and hard to handle. So, here she is keeping my boys all day long and I'm off teaching children that are similar to her son. How ironic is that?! Weird how things work out and the people that are put into your life. Anyway, Declan is adjusting well too. We all thrive on a schedule:). It is just so nice to know that our boys are in such good hands so I can focus on my kids at school and my job. I miss them during the day, but value and appreciate my time with them so much more when I'm working. I look so forward to picking them up in the afternoon and for our weekends together.

Aunt Anna bought them their little outfits below! So thoughtful and so cute!

Play Date With SE

Now that we have a bigger house we can have our friends over and be comfortable! Sawyer and Nicole came over yesterday to see the new house and play with us :). These two are both full of personality and so cute with each other!
