Happy Bday, Mom!

My beautiful and amazing Mom turned another year younger yesterday! We were so glad we could celebrate with her! It has been a very hard week for her:(. She had a smile on her face as usual and we were all so happy to celebrate this incredible woman's big day! Sorry it has been not the best holiday season, Mom, but we love you so much and hope we made you smile a little! We love you MORE!

We Love You More Than The Tongue Can Tell....

Grandmama passed away yesterday around 3:30. My mom was with her. That happened really fast. I am so happy that I got to see her on Sunday and was able to kiss her and tell her how loved she was.

We spent the night grieving with family last night. Just because she was 88, lived a great life, and we knew that this was coming, it does not make it any easier. Death of a loved one hurts.

Oh Grandmama. Where do I begin? I have SO many memories of you. You were such a large part of my child and adulthood. You have been around to see me accomplish so many things and hit many milestones in my 32 years of age. Some of the fondest memories I have of you...
visits from you when we lived in Maryland, Castleway Dr., toasted pita bread with cheddar cheese and lawry's, white grape juice, golden girls, Dallas, Days of our Lives, central congregational church, painting my nails, summers with you, taking me to golf lessons, taking me to tennis lessons, twin lakes, living with you, laundry tally markets, the smell of your house, youth dew, Christmas and your wrapping paper and awesome gifts, the zoo, Emmett Kelly clowns, no feeling in your hand, road trip to Maryland, you sleeping in the bathtub so I could sleep, late night phone calls to you because you were always awake, Vegas, volunteering at Plymouth Harbor with you (a program that you would eventually attend in the last years of your life), Henry, The Earth Angel (you never did tell me who it was), The Cruise, graduations, poppy cock, my wedding showers, our wedding in Punta Cana ( that you said you wouldn't travel for but did), rides together (living so close to you Jason and I took you to and from a lot) we had lots of chats during those rides, my baby showers, the birth of my first child (you were there the next day), meeting your second grandson that is name after your only son and will have your name forever, Tyson, taking you grocery shopping, the day we transitioned you to The Gardens (a day I will never forget), lots of visits, watching you smile,
your phrases... ye gods, I love you more than the tongue can tell, only god knows what a dog will do, step into the parlor said the spider to the fly, patience is a virtue virtue is a grace, put them both together and get a smiling face, you are a Cyndy clone
I always challenged you and took you out of your comfort zone. You were a good sport with it and would roll your eyes and laugh. I know I wasn't your favorite, but I know how much you loved me. You made that very clear. You were ALWAYS there for me and then me and my family. You got to see so much and watch all of your grandchildren grow up into adults and had 6 healthy great grandchildren that all loved you so much. You leave behind your legacy and your memories with us. I will hold on to them forever. Thank you for loving me and never judging me. I know you did not always agree with me or the things I said or did, but you never judged me. Thank you for making it to every important event and for being a wonderful grandmother. You were an amazing woman and devoted your life to helping others and making everyone else happy. I honestly just thought you would be here forever. I know you are happy and with God now. Your faith was amazing. I kind of feel like those little angels whose lives were lost at Sandy Hook ES needed a grandmother angel and that is why you left us a little earlier than intended.

I love you more than tongue can tell...

Not the visit I was expecting....

My mom and I went to visit my grandmother today at the rehab facility. It was absolutely heart wrenching. She has taken a turn for the worse and hospice will be evaluating her tonight and she will most likely be moved there. She is not eating or drinking and I barely recognized her.

Upon seeing us she got very excited and emotional which caused her to start vomiting. Heartbreaking and scary. I brought Mead with me today. I thought Mead would bring her some happiness. She did tell me I was beautiful and when she looked at Mead she said "God love him.". Classic Grandmama quote and made me smile. It took everything she had to get those sentences out and you can barely understand her. The nurse came in and changed her and she fell fast asleep. We hung around hoping she might wake up to visit, but she was worn out. I kissed her goodbye and she sighed. She knew I was there...that's what I'm going to tell myself anyway.

Apparently she is getting agitated too at times and hitting herself, picking at herself, throwing herself out of her wheel chair, etc. That is just not fair. She needs to be comfortable. My mom, aunt, and uncle will make sure she gets the best care. They are a little army those 3. They are an excellent team. Grandmama raised 3 amazing children!!!

Grandmama is not gone and we don't know when that will be. I can just say that today was awful. I felt so badly for her. My heart hurts for my Mom too. It's hard to see your parents upset:(

Prayers are appreciated for our family and Grandmama!

Now you may not agree with me posting these pictures, but it sheds some light on just how ugly Alzheimer's disease is. The pic above was taken in July...the one below is from today. 5 months. What a cruel, cruel disease.

At least she was calm and resting....

Happy Bday, Jason!

The love of my life turned 34 today:). It has been a very rough week for our family. We lost Jackson on Friday, Jason's great aunt and uncle unexpectedly ( who we were fortunate to see with the boys on Sunday)on Monday in an awful head on collision, and Jason's boss' nephew, who was 5, was killed by a fed ex truck. Did I mention my grandmother is not doing well either? She fell and broke her hip and is not recovering well, so we have that going on as well. It has been a pretty awful week for us and our families. Holding on to our faith and each other a little more tightly this week.

Not a fun bday for my husband:(. He has not complained one bit! Of course he hasn't! He is absolutely amazing! I know, I know sappy, but it is true. He is my best friend, soulmate, the world's best provider and father to our precious boys. Happy bday, Baby! We will celebrate eventually! We LOVE you!

I think the boys are pretty obsessed with their Daddy too!

My WORLD!

Mead is 6 months!!!

He is half year? What in the world?! We went to the doctor today for his appointment. He is 19.9lbs., 28.75 inches and his head is 17.5! Yay for a healthy little boy! He got 3 shots and one oral med. he was a trooper and has been smiling ever since! He is bouncing in his seat and laughing as we speak. So lucky to have such a happy and good natured baby! He is pretty cute too! We get stopped frequently on our trips out and about with people commenting on how adorable he is!

We were referred to a urologist and will have to go and see him in the next couple of weeks. Mead's testicle still has not descended, so he is going to have to have surgery to pull it down. There are way worse things in life, but hate that our baby has to have surgery:(

Happy 6 months!

I want to eat that thigh!

There's that creepy elf! Ahhhh!

Seriously...they can't get any cuter! So lucky!
