It feels like awhile since I have blogged. I'm kind of irritated, because it is not letting me post pictures at the moment. It says I have enough pictures and no more allowed. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Anyway, the past 2 weeks have been an emotional roller coaster. We attended John's funeral on Saturday and it was absolutely beautiful. It was a service filled with wonderful memories, stories, laughter, tears, and ended with a standing ovation to honor John and a dove release ceremony. My Dad helped the Clarks through the whole process. I could not be more proud to be Scott Woodside's daughter. He is such an amazing and thoughtful man. It was a hard week for him, but he was there for everyone else and had to grieve the loss of a dear friend in the process. We had a party afterwards at John's beautiful house on the rive complete with the infamous reindeer with blue balls and shots of tequila. I so loved that man and I will mourn his loss forever. The world is a darker place without John Alan Clark:-(
My husband has been my rock. I cannot even begin to explain or tell you how much he stepped up to the plate and took care of me and Declan. I pretty much was a walking zombie and checked out and he was there to support me 110%. He let me cry, get mad, and check out of life and reality and grieve the loss of John and took care of everything else. He is such a wonderful husband and father and John always told me that (and that man was stubborn and hard to please)! I feel so lucky to be married to such an incredible man.
I'm back now. It is time to get back to life, my job, and my family. John would want me to.
So...we took family pics on Sunday. A girl I used to babysit for, Emily, took pics of Declan and our sweet family. I would love to post some, but this freaking blog won't let me. I will try to figure it out this weekend. They are amazing pics. SHe made it so fun and totally captured The DEW's personality.
My mom and dad are keeping Declan this weekend, so Jason and I can have a date night so we can celebrate. I have been chosen as one of the 3 finalist for teacher of the year at my school along with 2 other friends and special educators. It is an honor and a privilege to be nominated along with these two other amazing teachers. I was also chosen to be a part of a mentor program for our county for the ASD program. I'm thrilled to mentor other teachers and share my experience and knowledge. Jason also has some things in the works with his business. Call me crazy, but I think John might be looking out for us. We have had a black cloud over our heads for quite sometime and it is so nice to get some good news.
Thank you to my family, school family, and friends for all of your support, kind thoughts, and prayers. It means the the world to me.
