Day 5 Golf, Animal Kingdom and Back to Magic Kingdom

Jason and my dad played golf on Sunday, so my Mom and I headed to the Animal Kingdom with the Cullinans. My mom only wanted to do one thing while we were in Disney World and that was to take her grandchildren on the safari in the Animal Kingdom. So that's what we did! To watch her face as she saw Declan's face light up n the safari, might have been one of my favorite moments! We did not spend that much time there. We did the safari, a really cool 3D bug show, and we took Declan to Dino Land which he loved!

You can see the smile on her face! Priceless!

So fun!

All Declan kept talking about was the Magic Kingdom and Thunder Mountain! We just knew we had to take him back there. We took Declan and Mead home to nap, so he could make it a little later. My parents were so nice and kept Mead for us, so we could spend some time with Declan! It was a blast! We rode It's a Small World...again, Thunder Mountain, saw two parades, a show, and fireworks! PERFECT evening! His face was absolutely priceless! He enjoyed every second!

MM ice cream!

So much love!

Watching the parade!

Not a bad view! Awesome night!

Thunder Mountain! Front row!

Day 4 Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios was a lot of fun too! The highlight for the boys was The Great Movie Ride and Toy Story Mania. We stayed there all day! Hollywood Studios is my Dad's favorite so we went down memory lane with him and did the Backlot tour with him! I can't believe how much I remembered from when I visited as a child! It was a fun day sharing and making new memories with my parents!

Cousins! They all had a blast with each other!

Day 3 Character Breakfast and Epcot

We started the morning off by going to a character breakfast at the Polynesian Resort. The food was delicious and we got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. Declan was not to sure about the characters. He definitely did not want to get too close to them.

So I hope you enjoyed the pictures! These are the only ones I took. My camera was thrown off the table when the bag was being searched, and it broke into a few pieces. I so wanted to cry, but was NOT going to let it ruin our trip. My Dad was so sweet and took a million pictures for us. As soon as he gets them uploaded I will share them!

The boys loved Epcot too. We happened to be at the right place at the right time and pretty much got to meet a ton of characters VIP style. I took one, but my dad has the rest.

Soarin and Nemo were the highlight of the day!

Day 2 Magic Kingdom!

We woke up that morning to a parking ticket. Of course we did! The car was blocking a little of the sidewalk. Again par for the Wood family.

We got there as soon as the park opened and hit most of the rides with NO wait! Mead and Declan loved the Magic Kingdom. Mead rode all of the rides with us too...except Thunder Mountain...which was hands down Declan's favorite ride. He likes to go fast. Definitely a thrill seeker. Pretty sure Jason and I called that when he was still a baby. We spent the entire day there!

Ready to go!

Monorail time!

Apparently he thought Mickey was going to be there to greet us at the door.

Feeding the bird!

Happy boy! Lunch at the Magic Kingdom!

Cyn Cyn and Mead!

Worn out!

Enjoying the day and making memories!

Thank God for this carrier. Mead LOVED it! Thanks Michaela!

Happy Baby!

Riding the train with Pop!

Day two=success!

Day 1 Travel Day

Declan took his first airplane ride to Disney World with his Pop and Cyn Cyn! He did great and loved the plane ride. Of course he was an angel for my parents!

Jason, Mead and I rode down together. Mead was awesome in the car and we made great time.

We pulled up to the house and well, Mead was locked in the car with the engine off and keys inside. That's how the Wood family does it. Nothing goes smoothly, but we're used to it! Mead was rescued by the locksmith very quickly, but of course it felt like an eternity.

Everyone was already at the house and swimming! We mapped out our week over dinner and went to bed after some cocktails were consumed.

Disney World!

First of all, thank you to my wonderful parents for an amazing vacation! It was perfect and everlasting memories were made. There are people who never get the opportunity to visit or take their own children to the happiest place on Earth! We feel very lucky and fortunate! Can't wait to go back!

Warning! I'm going to blog about each day...it may be boring, to you but these are memories I want Declan to remember and to share with Mead when he is older.

Enjoy!

Thanks Mom and Dad!

You will notice I did not take a ton of pics (day 2 will fill you in).

Glorious

70 and sunny in January...we'll take it! Jason is working today and both boys are not feeling well. I figured the sunshine would do them some good so we headed to the park! My wonderful husband had my camera fixed for me! So happy to have it back and can't wait to use it in Disney next week!

So handsome just like his Daddy!

Here comes the Red Power Ranger! Be very afraid!

See my teeth...and my crusty nose?!

Boys Will Be Boys

Our 3 year old has gone from liking Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Chuggington, Wonder Pets, etc...to...Power Rangers, The Hulk, Spiderman, Batman, and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Where did our little boy go? I will say I love it! God gave me boys for a reason...I'm way better at fighting Nighlocks than dressing up dolls! Declan has an amazing imagination and makes playtime fun. He is also very rough! Trying to teach him that he can only play that way with his Daddy:)

Mead is sick...again. Nothing the doctor can do for a severe cold, so we will fight this one again. He is also getting his second bottom tooth, so he has been fussy. Yes he does get fussy...with a smile of course.

Anyway...still working n getting the camera fixed. Right now all we can think about is our trip to Disney! SO EXCITED! We all need this trip and time together! Can't wait to make lifelong memories! Let the countdown begin!!!

A Beautiful Service

We had Grandmama's memorial service today. It was absolutely beautiful and perfect. I know she was looking down on us and very pleased:). We had the service At Central Congregational Church where my grandmother was a lifetime member, my parents were married there, so were Staci and Peter. It is also where my nephews and niece were baptized. There were many celebrations at this church and today was one of those. We celebrated Grandmama's amazing 88 years of life! The church was packed with many people that knew and adored Grandmama. She really impacted the lives of many people. I am so grateful to our family and friends that attended. It meant so much to our family.

A huge thank you to Kendra and Debbie. Mead made it about 15 minutes into the ceremony and had enough. Kendra sat with him outside in the waiting area and watched him for the entire service, so Jason and I wouldn't miss it. Declan had enough shortly after that and my friend Debbie took him outside to entertain him. So lucky to have such wonderful and caring friends. It was so important for all of us to be there for my mom and our family today, so I could not be more appreciative of the extra help! Thank you to Jill too! You are the best second mom/grandmother ever! It meant so much to our family that you were there today.

I did not speak today. I chose not to. Couldn't keep it together. I have had a hard time with the Grandmama's death. We had a different relationship, but we're so very close in the end. I was the one (and Jason) that took her home to an empty house or to her home at Northlake Gardens...I balled every time we dropped her off because I could see Alzheimer's taking over her life. I have so many memories of her and get teary eyed quite often. I just can't fathom her being gone. She has been such a constant in my life...my entire life. It feels like an elephant is sitting on my chest when I think about her and miss her so much. Living a mile from where she lived makes it very hard. I just try to cherish the memories that were made and think of all the happiness she brought into our lives and how much our family learned from her. Nothing meant more to her than her family...nothing. Her love was absolutely unconditional. My heart is heavy tonight. I know she is an angel and is looking over all of us.

We love you more than tongue can tell Grandmama.
